About me

“My name is Zach and my favourite thing to do is to play with legos. They are just so intriguing and fun. You can build anything out of lego if you put your mind to it. It’s actually a great way to help shut yourself off from the rest of the world and to be in your own home of happiness. Your own little world”

“I am a very kind person. I’m a dog person. And I am pretty good at doing sketches.”

"I loved being able to express how I wanted to picture community and being together on my postcard."

Sharing my postcard

“I want you to send this postcard to anyone and everyone. Anyone in a bad spot needs to feel happy. If they don’t feel happy, they will feel stuck for a long time. These cards will help you be happy, brighten your day, and make you feel whole. As if something was missing from your life and that it just got filled.”

"Don’t dwell on the past. Just think about the future and how you want to ride that roller coaster.”

What community means to me

“This year has made me think about community even greater than I did before. With COVID, a lot of the things we normally do has been greatly affected.”

“To me, community means finding yourself in different ways. Say you’ll be out and you see a beautiful view. You want to visualize that view, not just with your mind, but with your heart. Always do what you think will be able to make community mean something.”

“I hope that the postcards spread happiness in our community, and will make this world a lot happier than it was before COVID hit.”

About my Postcard

“I want my card to show people who are making the world a safe and better place that they are loved and appreciated."

Better Together Postcard

“The design I chose for my card is a tree. Picture that as a house or a park. And picture each of the squirrels in the tree as family and friends. That is what being in community means. You get to hang out. Talk about your goals. Be able to have lunch together. That’s the best way that community can be.”

To people who receive my postcard

“Always be ready to help someone if you think they need it. And if they do, lend them aid. Even if they try to refuse. Keep persisting and let them know you want to help.”

“The squirrels represent family and friends, gathering, and community. Not everything is in black and white. There's a fine colour between the two - you just have to find it!"

"I learned that I have a good eye for detail. And that this card may actually brighten someone's someones day.”
