“My two dogs mean everything to me. I’ve had them for a few years now and they are always with me. Sometimes when everything’s too much, they help ground me and keep me company.”
“When I was young, I woke up one Christmas morning and the whole couch was full of presents. I love getting people gifts and wrapping them - the little things make a difference. It makes me happy to see people’s expressions and it gives me a warm glow inside to make others happy. My two dogs mean everything to me. Sometimes when everything’s too much, they help ground me and keep me company.”
Sam is currently experiencing homelessness.
“Being here in this position has opened my eyes a lot. I had a rough childhood. Growing up, you don’t really realize how hard it was for your parents - having a child has made me appreciate my mom so much more and admire everything that she tried to do. Family is important, because you’ll never know when they’ll be gone.”
When we met Sam, she was cooking a meal for her friends.
“If I had a home, I’d make everyone come to me. I love hosting dinners and cooking. Food brings people together and let’s us spend time with each other without even realizing. The best version of me is doing my thing and helping others who have helped me along the way.”
50% of our profits from the Community Box: Holiday Edition were shared with Sam, along with our three other partners to help achieve their personal goals.
